Where has the spring gone??? This weekend, or better know as "Memorial Day Weekend" kicks off the unofficial start of the "Summer of 2013"......and I don't know about you, but it seems like only yesterday I was checking the weather to see if it was going to snow....rather than go on and on this week on one of my ramblings since I am sure you all are as busy as I am with preparation for this upcoming holiday weekend....So without further ado....here it goes !!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Morning Cars - May 2013 - Issue #3 - Mid Week Summer Meet 05/16 & SMC Princeton 05/18/2013
Happy Monday if that is possible.......as I have mentioned in the past it appear that the "weather GODS" did not look down on us with favor and as all of you know this past Thursday, Friday and for the better part of the morning on Saturday it was raining!!!!!....that being said, there were still about 15 cars at our meet in Cherry Hill, NJ this past weekend !!!! Which goes to prove that the drive for the smell of Caffeine and Racing fuel still draws the hearty enthusiast despite the weather.
So what to do know????? well there are events planned for this upcoming Thursday & Saturday !!!!
This Thursday night, we are going to kick off our mid-week monthly event (held on the 3rd Thursday May through October weather permitting) and will all be converging on Collingswood, New Jersey at the legendary Cruise Night @ 5:30-6:00 pm and on Saturday, 05/18/2013 you now have the option to attend one of two C&C style events, as this Saturday, as alluded to in last weeks post Saturday Morning Cars - Princeton is back !!!! and our good friends over at BCX will be up and running as well.
Below and above in the website tabs you will find all information related to these events and more.

Saturday Morning Cars - May 2013 - Issue #2 - Next Meet is Saturday, May 11th 2013
All,
Happy Thursday....that being said, and based on the forecast, the weather for this Saturday, May 11th 2013 it would appear that our efforts to get the cars out of the garage may be thwarted by the "weather gods". Hopefully with a little luck we will be out.....so keep and eye on the forecast and if the rain holds off or if the weather forecasters are incorrect (remember all those snow storms they predicted this winter !!!) my prediction is we will have a repeat of the 70+ cars we had just two weeks ago.
Additionally, in May 2013 Saturday Morning Cars is expanding to two additional locations !!!
This Saturday, weather permitting, Terry McGavis from Reading, PA who made a two and a half hour trek to join us 4 weeks ago had such a great time he is kicking off the 3rd SMC Chapter in Reading, PA (see Reading, PA tab above) and I have been working with him directly helping him get the word out so all the best to Terry and his future group.
Later this month, on May 18th to be exact, based on multiple E-Mails and also a overwhelming response and request on the car forums....Saturday Morning Cars - Princeton is back at a new location and time....so please check the new tab above on the website "Princeton, NJ" for a schedule of upcoming meets, times and location.
On the technology front....please take a minute to check the calendar to the right, if you have not already checked it out or added it to your own personal calendar (it is an open Google Calendar for your Techies) you will see that I have not only added all of our upcoming meets which are currently scheduled....but have also added BCX's events along with all of the other Saturday Morning Car Events (AKA Cars and Coffee in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area). Additionally, all of these events now have their own separate page listing the key information for those who love the smell of High Octane Gas and Caffeine on Saturday Mornings.

Saturday Morning Cars - May 2013 - Issue #1 - Bi-Week Update
All,
What a meet !!!!! While I was unable to attend last weeks meet on April 27th due to my son Tim's baseball game I have heard thru the grapevine that more than 70+ Cars showed up and based on the E-Mails and request to join our mailing list which now tops 280+ members, it appears that this will now be, "the new normal".....I can't even imagine the day when all 280 of you show up !!!! it will be awesome !!!!!
Now for the bad news, we don't have a meet this weekend, our meets are the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month....but the good news is our friends over at Bucks County Exotics do !!!!! So if your need for the smell of high Octane and Caffeine can't wait till our next meet which is scheduled for May 11th.....please make it a point to visit Ernie and Company....for more information simply click the Bucks County Exotics tab above and you will be taken directly to their website with all the information about them and their event this weekend.
On the technology front and new this week to the website, as I continue to improve the website to make your and my life a little easier, to the right you will see a calendar which is now active and list all of our upcoming events as well as information about the other are "Cars and Coffee" format meets in and around the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. I will be updating it in coming weeks with additional event and activities so feel free to check back in to look for updates and for those of you who are "techies" this calendar is a "open" google calendar and you can link it directly into any mobile, tablet, laptop, or PC based device calendars.
Also, please take a moment to check out the website as it contains all of the original information I use to send you via E-Mail and more !!!! Please note the website is a work in progress....so any feedback good or bad is greatly appreciated.
Lastly, and I write this with some great angst, since we have grown over the past three years it appears that as of late we have had an influx of people/person's targeting our meet with flyers, handouts and literature for anything from car shows, museums, fundraiser, detailing and on one occasion someone was handing out discount cards for a local jeweler. While I appreciate peoples intentions and suspect that they were all good....but I don't know about you all, but my local PTA already gives me my weeks full of these handouts in my son's school folder each week.
Please note that the original intention of this meet since the inception three years ago was to take 1-2 hours and step out of the "rat race" and meet up with some good friends with some really cool cars and was never intended to be a marketing event for you/their, your/their business, your/their fundraiser etc.
That being said, and to nip this problem early on, based on many members feedback, in the future I would ask you all to refrain from any and all business, fundraising activities at our meets and if you have information about an upcoming event and are a member and on the list....please shoot me and E-Mail to discuss....to date 99% of what I have seen being handed out has been okay, but I want to avoid this issue from escalating and also avoid the dreaded "car show driver seat" where you get a bunch of information you don't want, didn't ask for and essentially throw in the trash.
Please note if the above is your intention, motive for coming and this is your thing....I'd ask to you to reconsider attending out meets and move on to the "car show" circuit which we are not.

Saturday Morning Cars Upcoming Event Schedule - April 2013 - Issue #1 - 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY !!!!
All,
As I am sitting here writting this it just came to me that today is April 10th 2013 and about 3 years ago I was posting information about our meet on every auto forum known to Amercian and European Sports Car Fans with the hopes that 10-15 fellow car enthusiast would come out on a Saturday morning grab a cup of coffee, talk cars for an hour or two and then go back to their own individual "rat race"....fast forward to today and those 8 Car Enthusiast who showed up to my 1st meet has grown and now offfically over 250+ Enthusiast and on any given Saturday there are anywhere from 40-100 cars at our meet location. I even heard a rumor that last Saturday which was not a scheduled meet....there were 20 cars loitering in the parking lot...sorry I missed that, but it was opening day for Little League Baseball for me.
Where am I going with this rambling????? I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your stories, your knowledge, and most of all your friendship over the past three years and into the future and making this simple meet something I never even dreamed about and also to say:
"HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY SATURDAYMORNINGCARS - CHERRY HILL, NJ".
Now enough of the gushy stuff and on to business, after a brief hiatus at the tail end of March which was a 5 Saturday month ( we meet on the 2nd & 4th Saturday) we are back at it again....so to make it short and sweet as we start the month of April 2013:
Air Temperature for Saturday 04.13.2013 - 63*F - Check !!!!
Rain Forecast for Saturday 04.13.2013 - 0.0% - Check !!!!
Overall Forecast for Saturday - Partly Sunny - Check !!!!
